I.    JOB SUMMARY 

 

This role encompasses both financial planning and financial reporting, offering broad exposure to various functions within the finance team. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with colleagues across Canada, Ireland, and the United States, and will take on a diverse set of responsibilities.

Key qualifications include experience with month-end close procedures and a strong working knowledge of SAP. Familiarity with budgeting and forecasting processes, along with proficiency in a forecasting tool such as Cognos TM1, is highly desirable. Additionally, this position requires a commitment to delivering exceptional internal customer service to departments across Emergent.

 

II.    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

 

•    Prepare monthly actuals, forecasts, and annual budget financial statements
•    Conduct detailed variance analysis and provide insights on financial performance
•    Partner with business operations teams to support strategic and operational decision-making
•    Prepare account reconciliations
•    Validate pharmaceutical sales rebates and chargebacks
•    Assist in U.S. pharmaceutical gross to net analysis
•    Ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (“SOX”) requirements
•    Maintain and update account structures and coding within the TM1 forecasting system
•    Develop and deliver monthly and quarterly financial schedules and reports
•    Coordinate cost allocations for forecasting and budgeting purposes
•    Collaborate with cross-functional teams across Canada, Ireland, and the U.S.
•    Work independently on financial projects and process improvements
•    Provide high-quality internal customer service to departments across the organization

III. MINIMUM EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS

 

•    A recognized accounting designation (CPA, CA, CMA, or CGA), or actively working toward one
•    Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in financial planning, reporting, or related accounting roles
•    Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
•    Experience with ERP systems (SAP preferred) and forecasting tools such as Cognos TM1
•    Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
•    Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and geographies
•    Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
•    Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
•    Prior experience in a pharmaceutical environment is an asset
•    Flexibility to support additional accounting functions such as cost or project accounting as needed

U.S. Base Pay Ranges and Benefits Information

The estimated annual base salary as a new hire for this position ranges from [$76,500 to $92,700]. Individual base pay depends on various factors such as applicant’s education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.  The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant’s geographic location.  Certain roles are eligible for additional incentive compensation, including merit increases, annual bonus, [and/or long-term incentives in the form of stock options.]
