Project Manager Portfolio Management

At Emergent BioSolutions Berna, the Swiss affiliate there are - beside manufacturing activities – professionals in Quality Assurance, Quality Control, Supply Chain and Regulatory affairs working.  We are heading to the next period of growth with approx. 130 dedicated and committed professionals working on the Swiss site of Emergent in Bern / Thörishaus.  

 

We want to strengthen our local Project Management team with a Project Manager Portfolio Management who will own and manage the site project-portfolio.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Work closely with the commercial and technical teams to establish and maintain project plans and budgets, lead project team meetings, foster communication and facilitate between functional groups.
  • Ensuring adequate resourcing to meet milestones of projects, identifying risks and mitigations and providing updates on project status to project team leaders to ensure timely supply of quality products to our patients
  • Create and maintain integrated project plans that reflect core objectives, minimize risk, and deliver results
  • Organize interdepartmental activities to ensure completion of assigned projects within scope, on schedule and within budget
  • Develop and implement site portfolio management and holistic site resource planning
  • Lead and foster site Hoshin planning
  • Ensure accurate tracking and reporting of project milestones and deliverables
  • Measure and monitor project success
  • Motivate and influence stakeholders. Understand the projects end to end and manage interfaces
  • Full responsibility for managing specific aspects of the projects as designated by team leadership

 

MINIMUM EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS

  • Bachelor’s degree in a life sciences or related discipline; advanced degree (MBA) is a plus
  • Minimum of 7 years of relevant project management experience in a Biopharma or Biotech environment, preferably with exposure to commercial products and portfolio management
  • Self-directed, process oriented and able to work well in a team environment
  • Motivated to take responsibility for driving key projects
  • Good communication and collaboration skills
  • Thorough understanding of the drug lifecycle processes
  • Sound understanding of GxP and regulatory requirements
  • Good understanding of financial and resource planning systems and processes and ability to coordinate project level budget/resource estimates and manage actuals vs. plan
  • Multilingual – at least German and English, written and spoken
