The Director of Community Health Solutions is a field-based access, and communication professional responsible for a high volume of account pull-through by building and maintaining effective relationships with government first responders (police, EMS), State and County Departments of Health, school districts, and clinicians within a designated region. The role will be responsible for the territory encompassing the states of: Florida, Georgia, and Puerto Rico. The ideal candidate is a well-spoken, enthusiastic, and organized person with the ability to work productively and confidently with all stakeholders, including physicians, mid-level clinicians, as well as government leadership. This is a field-based role, with a strong preference for candidates in Florida and Georgia.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Working collaboratively with the Government Affairs Director to establish a region business plan to meet and exceed access and pull-through goals for various account types including county and local government, Opioid Treatment Programs, Naloxone Distribution Programs, Public Health Agencies, Police Departments, Fire Departments, EMT/Ambulance Companies and other similar and/or large strategic accounts.
- Develop strategies and tactics to exceed objectives as noted within the regional business plan, prepare, and present an annual territory plan and weekly update reports, analyzing each market channel potential, and Emergent product’s market share, challenges/opportunities.
- Establish new accounts by planning and organizing a daily work schedule to call on existing or potential referral sources to ensure a steady stream of referrals.
- Increase utilization of NARCAN NASAL SPRAY 4MG through effective communication and adherence to a sequential process which includes preparation of client-specific presentations and other data to respond to client needs and effectively gain access.
- Determine and anticipate potential changes within the government and community health care marketplace and alert Government Affairs Director so the appropriate steps can be initiated.
- Identify and target decision-makers in busy government and community healthcare centers to influence vendor selection.
- Identify and interact with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) in assigned territory.
- Maintain frequent contact with the marketing department regarding key developments, opportunities, and requests from KOLs.
- Expand knowledge base by working with Market Access by attending abuse related educational programs; reviewing clinical publications; establishing personal networks with abuse deterrent, government and community healthcare partners and participate in local professional societies.
- This role will also work in conjunction with various departments within the organization to drive access and remove barriers to the company's products.
- Identify and target decision-makers in busy government and community healthcare centers to influence vendor selection.
- Work collaboratively with the Government Affairs Director to expedite growth in new and existing prescriber accounts.
MINIMUM EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS
- Understanding and passion to assist those suffering from chronic substance abuse, dependency, and the associated comorbid conditions.
- Understanding of how the political environment (both local and national) can affect patient access to products.
- Strong critical thinking/problem solving skills.
- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts using a consultative selling approach.
- Working knowledge of the pharmaceutical development process and health care environment.
- Ability to build strong relationships with key customer stakeholders is essential.
- Must be self-motivated and able to work independently.
- Strong project management skills, ability to manage multiple high priorities, identify resource needs, drive to completion, prepare reports, and evaluate results.
- Strong business analytic skills to assess potential opportunities across the region.
- Excellent interpersonal, and oral and written communication skills.
- Skilled in presenting and tailoring presentations to audiences, engaging audience and adapting to last minute change.
- Bachelors' degree or equivalent required.
- Eight or more years of experience in a pharmaceutical/biotech sales role.
- Three or more years of experience in an account management role.
- Experience as a state-level lobbyist preferred.
- Strong sales acumen with documented sales successes.
- Prior experience with opioid antagonist or related products and/or experience within substance abuse treatment environment.
- Extensive travel may be required, including overnights.
- Experience using Microsoft Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
