I: Job Summary 

 

The Manager, International Tax is responsible for providing proactive leadership of the company’s European tax function.  Reporting to the VP, Taxation, this tax manager position will be responsible for all European income and indirect tax compliance and provision activities, which includes working with any external service providers in the preparation/review of tax returns. In addition, the manager will assist with the development and implementation of the company’s global tax strategies, with tax optimization and risk management the main drivers. 

II: Responsibilities 

  • Prepare and manage the annual and quarterly tax provision process including the coordination with external auditors and external tax professionals.
  • Assist with global tax planning, including assisting with the development, implementation, execution, and measurement of tax planning strategies.
  • Manage the preparation and filing of European federal and local income and indirect tax returns including all related analysis and support.
  • Assist with the coordination, documentation, and implementation of transfer pricing strategies.
  • Ensure that appropriate internal controls are in place and operating effectively with regards to accounting for income taxes and tax compliance.
  • Oversight of the tax audits of European federal and local filings.
  • Liaison with site management on tax issues and finance team on tax accounting and forecasting issues.
  • Assist in any European merger and acquisition activity, review of significant contracts and other ad-hoc activities.
  • Provide research support for European tax related issues.
  • Interface with outside tax consultants (public accounting and legal tax counsel) and other professional associates in the exchange of tax information.
  • Manage all tax department improvement initiatives and assist with tax department budgeting.

III: Education, Experience & Skills


•         Professional accounting designation strongly preferred (CPA, CA or equivalent). 
•         Minimum of 5-7 years experience in a Taxation Manager position. 
•         Minimum of 3 years experience in large public accounting firm with EMEA tax experience.
•         Strong understanding of EMEA tax and US GAAP Accounting for Income Taxes standards;
•         Highly developed interpersonal skills with a positive, can-do mentality.
•         Action-oriented with well-established analytical skills.
•         The ability to work both independently, within small groups and within a larger team.
•         Management of staff.
•         Management of multiple priorities in a deadline driven environment.

 

U.S. Base Pay Ranges and Benefits Information

The estimated annual base salary as a new hire for this position ranges from [63,500 to 76,700]. Individual base pay depends on various factors such as applicant’s education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.  The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant’s geographic location.  Certain roles are eligible for additional incentive compensation, including merit increases, annual bonus, [and/or long-term incentives in the form of stock options.]
