Director, Global Strategic Marketing

The Director, Global Strategic Marketing is responsible for global strategic marketing and commercialization planning for select late stage development and prelaunch product candidates in Emergent’s advancing Acute Care/hospital portfolio. The incumbent will be a key member of the product strategy team, collaborating with cross functional colleagues in optimizing product strategy, and will lead commercial and medical colleagues in preparing pre/launch strategies, plans, and implementation.  The incumbent will deliver accountabilities in accordance with the Emergent core values and leadership competencies.

Strategic Analysis and Planning

  • Generate and leverage business intelligence on market, competitive, scientific trends, and events to identify key insights and anticipate future opportunities and barriers.
  • Ensure external intelligence is synthesized & integrated in brand, customer, and go to market strategies & tactics.
  • Facilitate development of innovation in strategies and tactics to achieve goals and leadership.
  • Accountable for the successful development of commercial strategies and plans. 

Brand Strategy Development and Management

  • Coordinate and lead the cross-functional planning process to deliver a Ph3/prelaunch strategic and tactical plan.
  • Ensure development of integrated brand strategy and multi-channel program plan, go to market model, and targets (KPIs) to drive the launch and growth of the brand. 
  • Work with extended team to deliver a sustainable pricing and access strategy.
  • Ensure successful execution of pre-launch and launch marketing activities by multiple internal functional groups across external stakeholders.  
  • Develop marketing collateral materials and programs, and drive through relevant legal and regulatory approval processes.
  • Support budget development and management.

Communication & Collaboration

  • Articulate strategy/ plans, requirement, and business concerns to senior executives and governance committees.
  • Build and foster effective business relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborate closely with research and development, commercial operations, legal, regulatory, corporate affairs, and medical affairs team members for management and promotion of product.
  • Support marketing efforts by providing guidance relative to promotional review scheduling, print production options and budget management, and field distribution.
  • Articulate strategy/ plans, requirement, and business concerns to senior executives and governance committees.

MINIMUM EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS
•    Bachelor's degree or equivalent in business, healthcare marketing, health sciences or a related field is required; advanced business degree (MBA) is considered an asset.
•    8+ years of experience in Biopharmaceutical marketing, commercial strategy and/or launch planning experience for hospital products is required. 
•    Experience in global commercialization and infectious disease a plus.
•    Familiar with drug development process.
•    Track record of innovative strategy development and implementation.
•    Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills. 
•    Proven ability to collaborate and influence across functional and organizational boundaries, strong team player.
•    Business and scientific acumen.
•    Strong written and oral communication skills, including for executive audiences.
•    Effective in matrixed, fast-paced, and entrepreneurial environments.
