JOB SUMMARY 
A Scientist in Analytical Development Chemistry Group performs HPLC and UHPLC assays, prepares and updates assay test methods and SOPs, and assists in technology transfers of test methods to sites internal and external to the company. Scientist are expected to author protocols and reports describing their work and provide peer review of data.  

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Responsibilities will include:
•    Develops, optimizes, and validates HPLC and UHPLC assays to meet client needs.
•    Supports the process development and formulation development teams with sample testing.
•    Assists in troubleshooting product development issues related to physiochemical properties of target active pharmaceutical ingredients and drug products.
•    Handles multiple projects and delivers results to team in a timely manner.
•    Collaborate with technology transfer groups and quality control groups to share technical information.
•    Assist in laboratory maintenance.
•    Generates test methods and executes test method validation protocols. 
•    Analyzes data for scientific presentations and writes study reports.
•    All work will be conducted in compliance with Standard Operating Procedures and regulatory requirements. 
•    Knowledge on quality and regulatory requirements such as FDA, ICH, GLP/cGMP compliance preferred.

 

MINIMUM EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS
•    Master’s degree in biology, chemistry, chemical engineering, or related discipline required and Ph.D. degree is preferred, with a minimum of 5 years of experience in the laboratory.
•    Expert knowledge of scientific principles and concepts of analytical method development.
•    Experience in analytical methods including UHPLC, RP-HPLC, Ion exchange HPLC, LC-MS/MS, required.
•    Minimum of 1 years' assay/method development experience.
•    Experience with assay qualification or validation desired.
•    Preferred candidates should have experience with Waters Empower software.
•    Ability to think creatively to solve complex problems.
•    Proteomics knowledge, sequencing experience is a plus.
•    Proven record of independently managing method development to support CMC activities.
•    The candidate will have strong technical, communication (oral and written), and computer (e.g., MS Excel) skills
•    Excellent organizational ability and working well in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment is required
•    Strong trouble shooting and data analysis skills.
•    Team member with the desire to include ideas and information from other team members in a timely manner to draw scientific conclusions.
•    Hands-on experience with state-of the-art methods and instrumentation to support method development.
•    Excellent organizational skills, proven collaboration skills, learning agility, conceptual and strategic thinking.
•    Quality system management system experience is a plus.
