I. JOB SUMMARY
Finance Business Services (FBS) is a highly motivated team responsible for developing and managing overall accounting processes and systems that result in efficiency, quality, and enhanced decision support. The Senior Financial Business Process Analyst, reports to the Director, Finance Business Services and Process Improvement and is a key member in supporting delivery of SAP and Global Business Services (“GBS”) process improvements. This individual will work collaboratively with the Company’s finance, IT, and operating teams to support the execution of the overall global strategy for finance processes improvement. This role will partner with stakeholders at all levels to understand business requirements and translate them into a plan, build consensus on approach, and then work with IT and the business to execute to agreed timelines. Finally, this role will proactively seek out opportunities to leverage digital technology and automation to lower financial operations and compliance costs.
II. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
• Assess the utility and integration of existing financial systems (SAP, OneStream, TM1 etc.) by making recommendations for processes and upgrades where necessary
• Identify inefficient/ineffective business processes, develop remediation strategies, secure commitment, and coordinate the implementation of changes with IT and the business
• Support the development of performance metrics for key processes within the finance and accounting department
• Support the development of process and controls within the essence of digital transformation [including the potential of robotic process automation and artificial intelligence].
• Provide support to finance managers in maintaining implementation of the continuous-improvement initiatives within their respective functions
• Advise on best practices and key technology solutions that enable efficiency within processes; including BlackLine, Ariba, RPA, Microsoft PowerBI & Power Automate and Service Now, while also working with the business and GBS to ensure what new tools may be needed
• Participates in the site operational excellence / continuous improvement working group to share ideas, best practices and leverage cross-functional execution of lean initiatives
• Maintain interaction and relationships with stakeholders to understand business requirement and support and drive the development of scalable business processes
• Assist with the annual audit and quarterly reviews of the company, as required
• Supports readiness for merger/acquisition and divestiture activity, as required
• Strong organizational and analytics skills

III. MINIMUM EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS
Education: Bachelor’s Degree Required – Accounting, Finance, Information Technology, other appropriate business-related degree
Experience: Minimum of 5 years accounting experience, including experience within finance transformation or accounting’
Certifications: Certification/Licensure preferred - CPA, CIA, or CISA
Knowledge & Skills:
• Extensive knowledge of the design of ERP systems with an emphasis on SAP ECC and S/4 Hana
• Knowledge of SOX and/or internal controls
• Knowledge of public company accounting and disclosure requirements using US GAAP
• Demonstrated history in delivering large scale Finance and Accounting projects/programs
• Knowledge of emerging technologies (i.e., machine learning, robotics, artificial intelligence, blockchain, natural language, optical character recognition, etc.) and development of use cases to modernize finance.
• Skilled at identifying and evaluating new technological developments and determining their appropriateness for the business.
• Ability to effectively influence decision-making and process adoption at senior levels
• Ability to work within and manage through complex environments
• Strong interpersonal, organizational, and analytical skills
• Ability to think creatively and solve problems
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Preferred Knowledge and Skills:
• Big 4 public accounting, Fortune 500 accounting or finance transformation experience
• Project Management Professional (PMP) or continuous improvement certification at the Green or Black belt level
• Experience in the biotechnology and manufacturing sector; experience with government contracting is an asset
• Knowledge of analytical tools (PowerBI, Tableau, Python, etc.)
• Knowledge of Microsoft Power Automate, and Smartsheet
• Knowledge of SuccessFactors
• Knowledge of OneStream
• ERP System Implementation, specifically S/4 Hana
