The Senior Scientist will be part of the highly motivated team of scientists in the Analytical Chemistry group of the Analytical Development Department of EPDG Development Services. The candidate will implement novel HPLC and UHPLC technology to address needs for analyses of Emergent and client process samples, drug substances and drug products. The Senior Scientist will ensure our analytical approaches match the needs of the business and may mentor and coach colleagues to further their understanding of the methods and the technology we use. The 

candidate may provide guidance to junior level staff as a member of cross-functional teams.

  • The candidate is expected to design, implement, conduct, and interpret experimental data with minimal guidance.
  • The candidate will develop and execute analytical testing plans, method development and qualification schemes, validation protocols, and will author the associated reports, analytical test methods, SOPs, and protocols.
  • The candidate will also review and approve data results from development testing, inprocess testing, method validation exercises, product release and stability testing.
  • The candidate should be familiar with the use of common statistical analysis tools for evaluating analytical data and feel comfortable reporting data to leaders and clients.
  • The candidate will collaborate with project management to ensure all analytical activities are carried out in accordance with the project timeline and completed per contractual commitments.
  • The candidate may lead teams, which transfer analytical test methods between sites.
  • The candidate may be responsible for the analytical section of regulatory submission and may work with regulatory affairs to address any analytical issues may be requested by the FDA or any other regulatory agency.
  • Knowledge of quality and regulatory requirements such as FDA, ICH, GLP/cGMP compliance is essential.

Candidate will have a Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemistry, or equivalent and a

minimum of 10 years of related experience, or MS with 15+ years of related experience.

Knowledge of analytical methods including UHPLC, spectroscopy, RP-HPLC, Ion Exchange HPLC,

capillary gel electrophoresis and LC/MS.
