TECHNICIAN I, QC SUPPORT

 

Emergent BioSolutions is currently seeking a Technician I, QC Support for our Hattiesburg location. The successful candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent, Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, biology or another related field, and 1-2 years of experience within a scientific field is an asset but not required. Must have the ability to work in a fast paced and highly regulated environment, have the ability to muti-task and adapt to changing priorities and communicate and articulate information in both written and verbal forms. In addition, this individual will possess a strong work ethic and a commitment to excellence and innovation.

THE OPPORTUNITY

 

The Technician I, QC Support will perform a variety of QC lab activities and provide quality support for manufacturing operations. The position will encompass QC inspection of incoming materials; final product release testing as per test methods and standard operating procedures.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Perform incoming material inspection and QC testing of manufacturing components.
  • Perform in-process checks during product filling and packaging.
  • Perform final product release testing for commercial medical device product.
  • Perform peer review of QC data
  • Maintain a clean and sanitary work area in accordance with standard laboratory practice and procedures.
  • Verifying area clearance activities for various operations and monitor on-the-floor compliance of all operations to Emergent BioSolutions’ policies as well as FDA GXP requirements.
  • Performing label control processes such as counting, verification, issuance, receipt, and reconciliation of components.
  • Maintain associated laboratory logs.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS: 

 

  • HS diploma or equivalent, Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, biology, or related field is preferred
  • 1-2 years’ experience in a technical/scientific field within a GMP / FDA / Lab environment is an asset, but is not required
  • Strong initiative, organization, and ability to work independently
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office - Word, Excel.
  • Knowledge of laboratory techniques and safety precautions.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced and highly regulated environment.
  • Able to multi-task and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Able to communicate and articulate information in both written and verbal forms.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills; can work collaboratively with others.
  • Able to interpret analytical data.
