I: Job Summary

The Custodian and Grounds Technician is responsible for maintaining all non-GMP areas of the interior/exterior facility in a clean, healthy, audit ready state.

 

II: Responsibilities

 

  • Clean all administrative and common areas:  empty garbage, clean floors, dust, clean windows, etc. as required.
  • Perform scheduled and unscheduled preventative maintenance tasks in SAP related to cleaning.
  • Maintain detailed cleaning logs for all areas of responsibility.
  • Perform snow removal and landscaping assignments, as required.        
  • May oversee contractors employed to perform the general maintenance and repairs to the facility and grounds.  
  • Maintain all material, supplies and equipment used to maintain the facility.
  • Participate in and maintain all required job specific and safety training.
  • Maintain a current and detailed knowledge of cGMP.
  • Seek ways to increase operational efficiency.
  • Participate in special projects as required.
  • Other duties as assigned by the custodial supervisor.
  • Assists with continuous improvement projects within the department

III: Education, Experience & Skills

 

  • Completion of Grade 12 from an accredited educational institution preferred combined with minimum 1 year of related experience. 
  • Experience in a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment is an asset.
  • Good working knowledge of janitorial functions and the ability to operate powered cleaning equipment.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Cooperative approach to teamwork with emphasis on successfully completing site goals and providing strong customer service to internal stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills with a great attention to detail.
