The Accounts Payable Supervisor will be responsible for the supervision and oversight of the North America Accounts Payable team to ensure the accurate and timely processing of vendor payments. The Accounts Payable Supervisor will work collaboratively with Emergent associates and vendors and ensure compliance to prescribed methods and procedures.

•    Supervise and support the Accounts Payable staff to ensure the accurate and timely processing of accounts payable invoices for payment using prescribed procedures in an SAP environment (3-way matching, direct vouchering of vendor invoices utilizing workflow).
•    Ensure proper general ledger account coding of vendor invoices and obtain the appropriate authorizations and approvals as prescribed by the corporate authorization policy.
•    Oversee vendor payment activities which include check runs, ACH payments and wire transfers.
•    Interface with Vendors, Procurement, Operations and Finance to monitor and resolve accounts payable related issues. Maintain internal and external relationships in a positive and proactive manner.
•    Assist in the preparation and completion of various month-end and year-end accounts payable closing processes including accounting accruals and general ledger account reconciliations.
•    Adhere to Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) controls. Provide oversight and support in the review and testing of SOX control compliance activities.
•    Complete 1099 and 1042 processing requirements.
•    Ensure staff maintains detailed desktop procedures for all critical functions.
•    Complete supervisory activities relating to communication, setting expectations and goals, reviewing performance and metrics, and in general providing close staff support to encourage a cohesive environment in Accounts Payable.
•    Continually assess methods, processes and procedures to instill a culture of efficiency and continuous improvement within the department.
•    Other functions as assigned which may include but are not limited to: completion of requirements pertaining to various audits, assisting staff with workload when necessary, taking responsibility for new assignments, and working on special projects as needed.

•    Bachelor’s degree preferred; college level accounting classes required
•    Supervisory experience a plus
•    A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in accounts payable and/or accounting
•    Knowledge of Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) concepts
•    Proficient in a variety of computer applications: MS (Teams, Word, Excel, Outlook)
•    Experience with an ERP system for Accounts Payable processing a must
•    SAP experience a plus
•    Strong communication and organization skills
•    Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
