Job Summary
Reporting into the Director, Marketing Programs, the Sr. Marketing Manager, Government Programs is responsible for supporting the commercial growth of NARCAN® Nasal Spray in the fight against overdose and addiction in Canada.
They will be primarily responsible for the management of NARCAN® in Canada within government programs (public interest and Indigenous services)and the intersect with commercial programs (HCPs, consumers and businesses) to broaden access to NARCAN® for all Canadians.
They will also be responsible for driving the brand plan for current year and for the development and implementation of national strategic brand plan in collaboration with the Canadian Leadership Team, marketing, cross functional team, and external partners.
This position is for an 18 month term.
Responsibilities

- Act as product lead to drive alignment and enhance product value proposition for NARCAN® Nasal Spray, future pipeline, and life cycle strategies with a customer centric approach.
Execute and project management of enterprise level projects leveraging diverse portfolio of channels against customer segments. - Develop strategy to support promotional material (as needed) and serve as marketing expert with the in-house Promotional Review Committee.
- Build and foster business relationships with key customers, Indigenous nations and community partners.
- Understand the relationships between Indigenous communities and provincial/federal agencies as well as their relationship with Canada in general.
- Understand community-based organizations that utilize provincial and/or federal funding to operate.
- Collaborate closely with field-based teams to identify insights and opportunities to optimize market positioning and penetration.
- Manage ongoing A&P budgets and ensures team is meeting projected spend.
- Align brand budget to forecast, latest estimate and future projections.
- Responsible for national congress/conference planning
- Responsible for business meeting planning and execution
- Drive collaboration with all cross functional partners, including Sales, Operations, Public Interest and Indigenous, Regulatory, Legal, Data Analytics, Government Affairs and Medical Affairs.
- Responsibilities may require a work schedule of "normal" work hours in order to meet business demands.
- This position may require local and overnight travel across Canada in fulfilling business needs (approximately 20-30%).

Education, Experience & Skills
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in business, healthcare marketing, health sciences or a related field is required. MBA is preferred.
- Preferred five years of Canadian pharmaceutical and/or device experience with over two years in marketing pharmaceutical product/devices.
- Preferred experience with consumers, businesses, retail in public health space.
- Preferred experience with Indigenous communities relating to support of their leadership and health units.
- Understanding and passion to assist those suffering from chronic substance abuse, dependency, and the associated comorbid conditions.
- Awareness of and openness/curiosity to learn and celebrate the traditions, heritage and culture of First Nation, Inuit and Métis people across Canada, and customer facing experience with stakeholders in a healthcare setting.
- Demonstrates enthusiasm, strong initiative, and high sense of urgency with long term strategic mindset.
- Proficiency with regulations around the promotion of drugs and interactions with healthcare providers within the Canadian marketplace (familiarity with the Pharmaceutical Advertising Advisory Board Code, Advertising Standards Canada and Innovative Medicines Canada Code of Conduct). Pharmaceutical sales experience is an asset.
- Ability to lead through ambiguity, meet deadlines, and react swiftly to change and demonstrate a growth mindset.
- Business acumen to support the ROI determination of promotional spend and capable of leveraging data and analytics to distill insights and drive data-based decision making.
- Strong collaborator who can communicate effectively with internal and external business partners and can effectively leverage the strengths and skills of multiple and diverse business partners.
- Proven project management abilities, experience in managing budgets and forecasting.
- Stellar written and oral communication and presentation skills, with the ability to clearly articulate complex ideas to various audiences, including senior leadership.
- High emotional intelligence with strong ability to listen and understand the perspective of others to create a diverse and inclusive working environment
