Position Summary

Primarily responsible for assay/method development and testing research samples generated by Process Development and Production team. Also responsible for conducting lab experiments and data management to complete the project tasks


Essential Functions

  • Develops, optimize, and validate analytical assays for a variety of vaccine candidates.
  • Troubleshoots issues related to the process and product development.
  • Works cross-functionally with other teams for assay optimization.
  • Designs experiment, analyzes results, optimizes sample processing and quantification methods.
  • Provides technical strategies for identifying, evaluating, and prioritizing the selection of appropriate technologies.
  • Supports the process development team with sample testing, and troubleshooting.
  • Handles multiple projects and deliver results to team in a timely manner.
  • Guides/trains junior level associates.


Minimum Education, Experience and Skills

  • Master’s degree in biology, chemistry, chemical engineering, or related discipline required and Ph.D. degree is preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years' assay/method development experience with a M.S degree or 1 years’ experience with Ph.D. degree.
  • Ability to think creatively to solve complex problems.
  • Experience in analytical methods including LC-MS/MS, RP-HPLC, Ion exchange HPLC, capillary gel electrophoresis required.
  • Immunoassay method development (ELISA/Gyrolab/HCP) and TCID50 experience
  • strongly preferred.
  • Molecular biology (qPCR, RT-PCR) preferred.
  • Proteomics knowledge, sequencing experience is a plus.
  • Protein characterization experience is a plus.
  • Open-minded and detail oriented.
  • Strong trouble shooting and data analysis skills.
  • Team member with the desire to include ideas and information from other team members in a timely manner to draw scientific conclusions.
  • Hands-on experience with state-of the-art methods and instrumentation to support method development.
  • Excellent organizational skills, proven collaboration skills, learning agility, conceptual and strategic thinking, and passion for results.
  • Quality management system experience is a plus.
  • Good writing and communication skills.
