Position Summary

The Facilities Technician will provide support services for the San Diego sites.  He/she will also make minor or major repairs on the systems supporting the site. This person will do regularly scheduled inspections of site systems. This person will work closely with the site’s Senior Facility Engineer to coordinate prioritized workflow.

 

Essential Functions

  • Perform routine preventative maintenance
  • Conduct Facilities Work Requests for internal customers
  • Order and maintain spare parts inventory and repair parts associated with facilities work requests.
  • Conduct daily tours and verify operation for necessary adjustments of all facilities equipment located on rooftop, and throughout the facility
  • Organize and clean up
  • Respond to all system alarm communications
  • Carry out duties in compliance with established business policies
  • On-call responder for alarm calls
  • Demonstrate commitment to the development, implementation and effectiveness of Quality Management System per ISO, FDA, and other regulatory agencies.
  • Understand the quality consequences which may occur from the improper performance of their specific job
  • Coordination and timely execution of work requests
  • Participate in cross-functional training of the technical staff
  • Coordinate site escort of contractors and vendors. Ensure vendors are properly trained prior to executing work
  • Support the execution of validation protocols for Facilities equipment and systems.
  • Responsible for exhibiting professional behavior with both internal/external business associates that reflects positively on the company and is consistent with the company’s policies and practices

 

Minimum Education, Experience and Skills

  • 2+ years of maintenance experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience conducting routine building/grounds maintenance
  • Experience with power tools and their associated safety procedures
  • Experience working with and troubleshooting equipment systems
  • Experience conducting routine maintenance and repairs
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and work independently
  • Must be available to work “on call” via cell phone
  • Clean & valid CA driver’s license
  • Computer skills including, file management, MS Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Excellent understanding and application of safety procedures
  • Excellent use of communication, cooperation, and interpersonal skills
  • Experience working in combination with Engineering on projects preferred
  • Preferred experience in a GMP environment
