I.    JOB SUMMARY 

The Sr Information Security Analyst will be a hands-on specialist in our data classification function. The role requires, analytical and data processing skills. This is a results-oriented position where accuracy and efficiency are both measured and valued. The Sr. Analyst will contribute to the identification and creation of rules and procedures to classify data, improve the overall quality of our dictionaries and assist prioritizing the efforts of any manual processes globally. As a subject matter expert in Data Classification, the Sr. Analyst  will engage with various stakeholders to drive out requirements and advice on risk factors and considerations.

The essential job functions and primary responsibilities of the Sr. Information Security Analyst, Data Classification Program will include, but are not limited to the following, as a direct report to the Data Protection Program Director:

 

Data Classification Program
•    Provide advisory service on the design, implementation and management of Data Classification rules and marking controls.
•    Serve as a Data Classification subject matter expert within the organization that spans technical, operational, governance, and business considerations.
•    Work with Various stakeholders and Data Loss Prevention team to ensure alignment with DLP polices.  
•    Identify gaps and opportunities for improvements within the DLP program and the Data Classification initiative as well as integration of various tools.
•    Advise on appropriate Metrics collection and reporting of details relevant to data classification.
•    Define Proof of Concept plans, evaluations, use cases and success criteria.
•    Coordinate with stakeholders in the execution of Proof of Concepts and/or adoption of new Technology.
•    Provide technical and understanding training to peers and business stakeholders.
•    Leads risk assessment and audit activities related to the projects and maintains documentation of all assessment and audit findings, together with metrics for project and roadmap milestones.

 

Note: This position is a full-time 100% remote position based in the United States.

III. MINIMUM EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS

Education: 
•    Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline.
•    CISSP, CISA, CDRP, CBCP or comparable certifications

Experience: 
•    Minimum 5 - 8 years’ experience working in an information security general technical role
•    Previous experience in GRC and/or Data Classification projects highly desired
•    Minimum 5 years’ experience working in an information security technical role
•    Exposure to Microsoft Azure Information Protection (AIP) / Windows Information Protection (WIP) suite within an enterprise
•    Experience working with unstructured data, metadata, emails headers, data labeling, and classification
•    Hands on experience with industry leading Data Classification products / suites
•    Moderate experience with cloud computing
•    Moderate experience with Data Loss Prevention suites
•    Strong understanding of general security and networking concepts and experience applying same in corporate network environments
Knowledge: 
•    Experience with cloud computing
•    Experience with Data Loss Prevention suites
•    Strong understanding of general security and networking concepts and experience applying same in corporate network environments
•    Assertiveness - Ability to troubleshoot incidents until root cause resolutions.
•    Strong oral and written communication skills and ability to transform technical knowledge into business language (e.g. reports, presentations, etc.)
•    Ability to present both extemporaneously and in formal business settings.
•    Experience in root cause analysis, industry benchmarking, survey evaluation and data interpretation is required.
•    Have the ability to apply logic and reason to solve complex problems.
•    Ability to establish and maintain multi-functional and positive working relationships.
•    Advanced computer skills and proficiency.
•    Strong interpersonal and networking skills with a solid ability to work in a team environment.
•    Ability to work under stressful and tight deadlines as well as the ability to lead in a fast-paced environment.
