Job Summary
The Analyst I performs GMP compliant microbiological testing as required to support Environmental Monitoring, Raw Material testing, In-process, Finished product release, stability studies or nonclinical/clinical studies. The Analyst I also perform testing required to support assay, process validations and release of lab specific materials.
Responsibilities
· Perform routine laboratory procedures including analyzing and reviewing data.
· Perform routine laboratory sample processing procedures and perform test.
· Receive, prepare, test, release materials used for laboratory tests.
· Perform preventative maintenance on laboratory equipment.
· Initiate investigation reports attaching required documentation.
· Supports the efficient and compliant operation of the lab by:
o Documenting laboratory work consistent with GxP requirements.
o Maintaining lab records and inventory for supplies and reagents.
o Maintaining a clean and sanitary work area in accordance with standard laboratory practice and procedure.
o Adhere to all effective STM’s/SOP’s and safety requirements.
o Preparing Autoclave supplies and garbage when required.

Education, Experience & Skills
· University degree or technical diploma in microbiology, biology or related field of study.
· 0-2 years of related experience in a recognized professional or technical/scientific field. Experience in a pharmaceutical cGMP environment is an asset.
· Proficient in Microsoft Office - Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
· Basic knowledge of pharmaceutical GLPs and GMPs.
· Knowledge of laboratory techniques and safety precautions.
· WHMIS and biohazard safety awareness.
· Ability to work in a fast paced and highly regulated environment.
· Able to multi-task and adapt to changing priorities.
· Competent in laboratory safety and generally-accepted lab practice, including maintaining adequate written laboratory records.
· Able to communicate and articulate information in both written and verbal forms.
· Strong organizational and interpersonal skills; can work collaboratively with others.
· Able to interpret analytical data.
· Must be flexible with shifts as they can change any time based on business needs.
· Medical assessment required upon hire.
